Lukas Graham is a Danish band composed of a lead singer Lukas Graham, drummer Mark Falgren, bassist Magnus Larsson and current pianist Kasper Daugaard. The band has already had two other pianists, Morten Ristorp and Donald Kirk. The band plays a mix of soul, funk, hip hop and pop. Lukas describes the genre as being ghettopop, because it is a mixture of many genres. the band has been together from 2010 to now.
Lukas Graham's career began in late 2011 when two homemade video was posted on YouTube by the band when they played Criminal Mind and Drunk in the Morning. The videos were shared on Facebook between friends, and soon had the videos hundreds of thousands of views. Meanwhile, the band held monthly concerts at the Jazz Club in Christiania (in Denmark), where friends and acquaintances came and heard the band play. The rumor spread about Lukas Graham spectacular and energetic concerts, and it all reach a maximum in October 2011, Lukas Graham held their biggest concert ever at “Loppen”, Christiania. There is room for 400 people at “Loppen”, but all 600 people had to go in vain, as there was room for more. The big hype led to Lukas Graham signed a contract with record label Copenhagen Records in the summer 2011. The first single from Lukas Graham, "Ordinary Things", was released October 17, 2011 and went straight to P3s (Danish radio). Later that year, the single vote to be the Year of Inevitable P3 listeners with 27% of votes. Before the album was released, started Lukas Graham their first Denmark tour, Ordinary Tour, where they played more than 45 concerts and among others sold Store Vega (a big venue in Vesterbro in Copenhagen) three times. Total sales were 30,000 concert tickets on the tour.
