Performance pay for teachers is a new reform which is very discussed. In this essay you are going to read about what performance pay actually is and why it people discuss this subject. There are consequences in everything and performance pay is not excluded.

Performance pay is a new reform which is about that you pay teachers more if their students do good in the exams. That means a lot, because when you know that you get some reward because of your students’ good grades, you teach them better. Some teachers are very happy because of this solution because you get rewarded for doing good – which you actually have to do anyways. An example is Trenise Duvernay, who teaches math at Alice M. Harte Charter School in New Orleans. Here is a quote of what she says "It's a reward for doing what we all have a passion to do anyway — making sure our kids master the skills they need in order to be successful”. With that she means that it is a good thing to be rewarded for helping your students becoming successful.

By making this which come true, you can also make lawmakers happy. As the article “States push to pay teachers based on performance” by the reporters Bill Kaczor in Tallahassee, Christine Armario in Miami and Donna Gordon says “the money is persuading lawmakers around the world”. That is because the lawmakers get a chance to gain more money by making their students do good in school. Therefore, they are very happy about the idea.
