The shining mountain The Shining Mountain by Alison Fell This story is about a Scottish girl, who is called after a shining mountain, Pangma-La, because her father works as a famous mountaineer. The children at her school are teasing her about her name. When Pangma-La became older, she and her dad claimed a mountain. The mountain is called The Shining Mountain. On the way to the top of the mountain, she meets an old lady. The old lady offers to carry her heavy rucksack, but Pangma-La is afraid to disappoint her dad, so she wouldn’t accept it. The same night
