Graffiti comes from the 1970 US and has emerged as one of the four branches of hip-hop culture, which consists of rap, DJ and breakdancing. Graffiti Culture was especially developed in New York and Philadelphia, in groups and gangs in the slums. Graffiti is how you describe yourself.

Graffiti is legal if…

Graffiti is legal if you do it on your own property or the places where you have received permission from the community or the police.

Graffiti is illegal if…

Graffiti is illegal if you do it on other people's private property, as houses, cars, trains and walls. Graffiti’s are often paintings on trains or walls actually all places where others can see it clearly.

Who do graffiti / why did they do it? It is most young people who paint graffiti. Some of them are doing it because they think it is exciting to do something illegal. Others are painting graffiti, because they like to express themselves creatively people can be punished for making illegal graffiti, some of the judgments they can get is: tickets, volunteering or be catch in jail.

They can also risk getting badly hurt because it may be dangerous to paint graffiti by the highway, bridges or walls and standing on the railway tracks. According to the police, community and states all over the world, they all say that it is illegal and vandalism.
