I found it very difficult to be at the new school. I knew it was only for three weeks, but in the beginning it was very difficult to make new friends. The people I met was not as good at remembering what I just told them. I could tell them that I came from Norway, and I was 18 years old and my name was [NAVN A], but the only thing they remembered was my age and my name. I am glad they could remember my name, but it could be a lot better if they just could pronounce it. It is nice to be in USA, and I found out that not all Americans are as dumb as the ones I met in the beginning.

Maybe it was hard at make friends and find the right classrooms, but my host family was so sweet right from the beginning. Everyday when I finished school they came to pick me up, and they drove me to the school too. I felt very welcome in their house and I will never forget that.

I remember the third day at school. It was that day it all became so much easier. I was on the way to the library, but I did not know where to go. Then I met a guy who said he had heard about me. He told me, that he wanted to help me to get to classes and the library too. Then he showed me the way to the library. His name was Adam Anderson but everyone called him ‘’Double A’’, and he became a really good friend. I discovered that we had some of the same subjects in class. We became good friends and we went to some of the popular places, and hang out with some of the other students almost everyday. And when we did not hang out at the popular places I mostly helped Adam with some of his homework. It was fun because all the teachers thought that it would be a lot more fun for me if I did not had homework in the three weeks I was in USA. And they were so right.
