What is sexuality?

Sexuality is diverse, and deeply personal. Understanding our sexuality is about sexual feelings and attractions we fell towards other people, not about who we have sex with. There are different types of sexuality, and it can take time to figure out what fits you.

Understanding sexuality

Everyone´s sexuality is different. Sexuality can be confusing. Some gay, bisexual or lesbian people say from an early age that they “felt different”, and they had crushes on friends or famous people of the same sex. Sexuality begins before birth and is a lifelong leaning process until we die.

Types of sexuality

Heterosexuality: is the sexual attraction between members of the opposite sexes such as man attracts women and woman attracts to men.

Homosexuality: is the sexual attraction between members of the same sex such as man-to-man and woman-to-woman.

Asexuality: is also known as nonsexuality, which is the lack of sexuality attraction and sexual interest towards others.

Polysexuality: is the sexual attraction to more than one gender but do not wish to be known as bisexual.

Pansexuality: is the sexual attraction towards people regardless of gender also known as omnisexuality, some pansexual refers to themselves as gender blind.
