I choose this topic because in certain parts of the world, homophobia is still seen as a cultural practice and it is excessively normalized. Sexual orientation bias crimes are on the rise, and continue to be met by a high level of violence. Figuring out your sexuality can be a very lonely and confusing time so it is especially important for teenagers going through this to have all the support possible.
I find this topic very interesting because everyone is at different stages of their sexual life because everyone has different experiences with different people. However, having open conversations about sexuality can help, us all feel more comfortable and supported.
