The American Dream has always been something that people has been seeking for all over the world. Freedom of speech, independence, and the worth of an individual are some of the words that people associate with The American Dream. America has always been the land of opportunity regardless of social class. And everyone had the opportunity to get a richer and fuller life. But is this still true? Or is America starting to become a country full of materialistic people who only seek to have all the materialistic goods they can get? And if so, are the materialistic goods enough to have a happy and peaceful life?
I have always been taught that if my dreams did not scare me, then they were not big enough. And if I wanted to achieve something, then I was my own worst enemy. I still believe that everything is possible to achieve - as long as you want it bad enough. But is this still the case? Are you still able to become a top lawyer, if you were raised on the streets, and did not have enough money to go to college? It is almost impossible to break the social heritage today, since it is simply not possible. So the only thing the lower class can do, is to watch the upper class get richer and richer. But the question is, which of them are the happiest ones - the ones without any materialistic goods or the ones that have loads of money?
