How the American Dream has changed over time and how it works?
The "American Dream" is the belief that anyone can attain success by sacrifice, risk-taking and hard work, rather than by chance. The American Dream can be called a perfect life in the United Stated. A perfect life is all about money, big house, luxury clothes and accessories, fast cars, good food, travels and everything you can imagine. But The American Dream can be something different to every citizen in the Unites Stated and there are a lot of Americans that do not believe in the American dream, or believe that it became unachievable.
This essay sets out to discuss how the American Dream has changed over time, different perceptions of the dream and family what it takes to active it in today’s America. The American Dream is the symbol for the endless possibilities but nothing comes quickly and easily. There is only one thing you can not go without if you want to succeed, and that is hard work – Hard work is the key to success! You have to pay a price what you want and the harder you work on your dream, the more confident you become. “The American Dream” is possible due to equal opportunity. Chia Thye Poh who is a former member of parliament and political detainee says: “Hard work does not necessarily guarantee success, but no success is possible without hard work.” That is true because hard work is obligatory, but it does not guarantee success. In some situations luck and talent can be the key to success, but the achievements without hard work are impossible.
