We all know bullying is wrong. Calling other people hurtful names and words has absolutely no constructive purpose. Hitting, kicking or in general any kind of unprovoked violence on another human being is just stupidity on a whole other level. It might make the bullies feel good hurting someone, but that feeling is gone the second they are done. On the other hand that experience might have done permanent damage on the victim. In the past, victims could go home and be “safe”. But now with the internet the victims can’t “hide”. Bullies can now write anonymous messages to the victims. The fact that they can hide behind a screen, makes them write much more extreme messages. They will write things, nobody would ever dare to say in public. But because they are hidden behind a computer, nobody knows who has written what.

Bullying can cause people who are normally confident and happy to become self-conscious, shy, and insecure. Victims of bullying may also become sad or depressed. Their confidence might completely disappear, keeping them from trying new things or trusting new people. When a person has been bullied, they may hesitate to participate in situations where they might get humiliated, such as in public speaking or in sports. It can go so far that the victim become so depressed that he or she will commit suicide.
