This weekend I attended the local football match between City Rangers and Capital United. I was sat on the Capital United fan stands and it was a blast most of the time and we had a lot fun chanting and drinking beers and waving banners and lighting roman candles. But in the second half when City Rangers scored in front of us a bunch of stupid fans started throwing beers and coins etc. at the players and the ref had to stop the game and it ended up being stopped indefinitely. This is really annoying for the people who wants to watch football and have fun in a nice atmosphere and for the players and staffs who prepares for these matches. It is a problem that needs to be solved somehow. I am not a hooligan myself and even though I do love my club very much and always ready to support it as much as possible I just don’t believe that it’s worth other people’s health and safety and we need to remember that even the rival fans and players are human just like we are. I I’m not sure that it is possible to completely stop hooliganism, but I sure am interested in doing something about it, so we can make sure that a small group of people don’t get to ruin the fantastic experience of stadium football for casual spectators and fans like me and don’t ruin the games for the players. Stadium football should be for everybody. That’s how we gain more loyal fans as well. I think that banning alcohol on stadium would be very sad, but I can see that it could be a necessity. I also think stadium staff should tighten up on body searching so its harder to snuck in stuff like pyrotech, though I enjoy it myself, I see the issues, that comes with it. And the security should keep a better eye out for the people doing bad things, so that we make sure they get banned from the stadium AND ban them from our away games.
