This Summer, I have been travelling quite a lot. On the day after my dimission from ninth grade, I went with my mother and sister to Copenhagen. We went because my cousin [NAVN A] had just finished her last year at gymnasium and she was having a party. I managed to spill red wine on a white table cloth and it became a very long night. We stayed with friends in Copenhagen that night and the next day, we got up very early, as one usually does when travelling, and got on a plane from Kastrup airport to Bangkok, Thailand. The flight lasted thirteen hours because of heavy turbulence, but luckily we had televisions in our seats, so we were not really bored at any time. When we arrived we were very tired and desperately wanted to sleep as soon as we got to our hotel, but we decided to stay up till at least nine in the evening to beat the jet lag. Sadly, we had no luck in beating the jet lag. All of us woke up several times in the night and had to get up early. When we got up, we had a very nice breakfast at our hotel, and then we had to book our visas for going to Myanmar. Feeling as bad as we did because of our jet lag, we were not very organized at all, therefore we went from the tourist bureau and back to the hotel twice because we left our passports at the hotel both times. We eventually managed to book the visas and then had one more task left that day, which was to book our flight to Mandalay, which is the capital of Myanmar. We found this very difficult for multiple reasons, one being that we were confused by anything on the computer screen because of our thirteen hours flight, the other being that the hotel computer did not quite work. However while my mother and sister were booking our tickets in great distress, I swooped in and showed them how to use a different internet browser, which then worked. We spent the rest of that day, sitting around, resisting the urge not to sleep. We then ate dinner at a restaurant, and went to bed. The next day, we visited a famous palace. It was raining, but still very beautiful. One of my favourite things about Thailand is their food. That evening, we ate a dish called pad-thai. It consists of two different kinds of noodles. One is called glass noddles and is very thin, the other is thicker and more flowery. Then there is soya, peanuts and some greens on top along with some chicken. We bought it in a sort of stall outside our hotel, we then brought it back inside and ate it there with drinks from the hotel bar, because we were sure that the bottled water the hotel had was clean and pure. The next day we flew to Mandalay, it was quite a short flight and the pilot flew quite low so since I was sitting by the window I had a very nice view of Myanmar’s beautiful countryside.
