I have for a long time now, thought about visiting ‘’ Lowry’s Art Gallery and entertainment Centre ‘’ in Manchester, so here the other day, I made up my mind, brought a ticket to Manchester, and flew over there.

I didn’t regret it once. It was so amazing, and particular. I will suggest everyone who has interest in art, too come visit this place.

All the paintings, and pictures were absolutely stunning, but there was one picture that ‘’on the spot’’ dawned me, because of its simplicity. Even the title, “Man Lying on a Wall”, is about as straight forward as it gets, and Lowry’s claim that he saw a man doing just that gives it validity.

The picture – quite simple – is about a man, lying there on the wall. He’s also having a little black suitcase, and umbrella there is standing up against the wall. In the background there is a factory, and a building looking a lot like Big Ben. And that’s all!

It’s a freeze frame of a moment in time where I would actually like to know why he’s up on the wall. Every time I look at this painting, I notice the clock is at precisely three o’clock. It had to have been intentional on Lowry’s part, and adds more mystery to the question. With his briefcase at his side, this had to have been during work hours, maybe on the way back from a meeting, or an early walk home. He looks like he’s just taking a break and having some personal time, that maybe he rarely gets during his busy day
