My name is Rochelle, and I’m going to tell you a story about how I survived the zombie apocalypse. It all started with rabies that evolved. People got aggressive; they hit, kicked and bit people. The rabies virus spread via. Blood and saliva… Luckily or unfortunately I was immune – depends on your point of view.
I saw what was happening in the news, and I myself am working at the news. I knew CEDA (The military) was sending helicopters to take people to safer places. So I ran half km. to the nearest helicopter platform, it was on a hotel rooftop. As I ran I saw that the people that ran with me got attacked by “zombies”. I almost stopped to think about helping them, but my survival instincts took over and I just ran. I didn’t dare to look back, but I could hear footsteps behind me, either it was the footsteps of zombies or survivors. When I got inside the hotel and was about to run up the stairs, curiosity won, I looked back, and saw three other survivors behind me. I yelled “this way!” and ran up the stairs. At the exact same time as we got to the rooftop, we saw the helicopter take off. We yelled and yelled. One of the guys, the youngest, stopped yelling and said “Guys, it won’t work. Maybe we should go to the mall for evacuation.” We all agreed, took weapons and ran through the hotel rooms. We killed the zombies we met. It was hard at the beginning but the young guy, whose name I would find out was Ellis, said “either it’s them or us”. Ellis was a sweet young guy, only 22, but very childish. Then there was Coach, a rather chubby man who used to be a football coach. The last guy Nick was somehow in the mafia but I never bothered asking. I thought it was best not to know. We noticed that some zombies has mutated; a man who had apparently smoked a lot had grown more tongues and they were extremely long and strong which he used to grab us. A fat man vomited on us, and somehow the vomit attracted a lot of zombies. When we got to the mall there was not evac – everybody was dead… or undead. We took a car and drove away. We saw that there was another evac in the amusement park ‘Whispering Oaks’. We fought our way through the amusement park and I ran out of ammo 3 times and I had to change weapons a lot. When we got to the evac we saw that people already had been flown away by helicopters. We turned big lights (to get seen by helicopters) on that were for a concert but then music started …. Really loud. That too attracted zombies. We got saved by the helicopter but as we flew we saw the pilot has been bitten, and he was not immune. We crashed. Somehow we all survived. The crash attracted zombies, and a giant zombie came. I don’t even think it was a man. Muscles on muscles. He hit me one time and broke my leg. I lay helpless on the ground, screaming for the guys to run. They refused. As Nick and coach shot the ‘tank’ (the giant zombie), Ellis tried to get me on my feet but it was impossible. He kept trying even though I begged him to save his own life. Out of nowhere a zombie came and bit his throat. Ellis fell to the ground beside me and looked at me. I could see the life disappearing in his eyes and I cried. There was no hope.
