Our earth is under a massive pressure by our way of living. It is in everyone’s interest to preserve our earth. If we do not change our conduct and our emissions, will the earth not be habitable for future generations. This is exactly what is presented for us in Wall-E. In the movie Wall-E, the earth is no longer habitable for humans, which has led to them fleeing to a spaceship where they have been living for centuries. This essay will give an analysis of how this has affected the human species and our main character Wall-E.
Disney Pixars movie “Wall-E” instructed by Andrew Stanton, Thematizes sustainability. How the earth no longer is habitable for humans and what they must do to get back. The message seems to be that the humans must take action in order to save the planet and ourselves from becoming unable to do anything without assistance from robots.
Wall-E has grown a personality during his time on earth, which is why a characterization is needed. Wall-E has been living alone on earth for centuries making cubes out of garbage. Everyday Wall-E finds something new which he finds interesting, this new thing is brought back to his home and placed among the rest of the things he has found over the years. In the movie it is obvious for the audience that Wall-E feels lonely on earth. An example of this is when Wall-E holds hands with himself after he has watched it in a movie (eks. “07.33 - 08.00). This shows how lonely Wall-E feels, and how he longs for some company. Another example of how we see Wall-E’s personality is his loneliness and curiosity. When Eve arrives on earth, Wall-E follows her around to see who she is and what she is doing. Wall-E falls in love at first sight. (eks. “15.00 - 15.50”). Wall-E’s personality is crucial for the movie, if he did not have a personality, he would not have been friends with Eve and the humans would not have been able to come back to earth.
