Sandy Hook Massacre

December 14, 2012 in Newtown, Connecticut, 20-year-old Adam Lanza killed 27 people. Lanza took his mother Nancy's legally bought weapons. He took three guns, a Bushmaster XM15 E2S 5.56mm, a Sig Sauer P226 9mm and a Glock 20 10mm. He took one of the guns, and shot his mother. Nancy was still in her bed when she was found by the police. This happened some time before 9:30 am, and it was his ?rst murder that day. After he had killed his mother, he took her car and drove to Sandy Hook elementary school. The school's security protocols had recently been upgraded. Lanza walked op to the door, and shot it open with the Bushmaster XM15 E2S ri?e. Principal Dawn Hochsprung and school psychologist Mary Sherlach, heard the gunshot, but didn’t recognize the sound, so they went out to see where the sound came from. Lanza saw dem, and killed them. He walked trough the school, and shot everyone he saw. He ended up entering a ?rst-grade classroom. In the classroom the substitute teacher, Lauren Rousseau were gathering all the children in the back of the room, trying to get them to hide in the bathroom. Lauren Rousseau and a behavioral therapist were killed along with ?fteen of the students in the room. There were only one surviver in the classroom. When she was reunited with her mother she said:”Mommy, I'm okay, but all my friends are dead.” The police arrived approximately 14 minutes after Lanza had went rampage. Lanza shot himself in the head just before the police arrived. After a thorough investigation, the police noticed that all of the victims, except two, were shot at least twice. After looking trough his computer, they found out that he was obsessed with mass murders. He had watched several suicide videos, and downloaded videos from the Columbine shooting and other school shootings. Lanza didn’t leave a note, and he destroyed all the evidence, that could have pointed towards why he did it. The only thing that they point towards is his medical records. He was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome and OCD. His father suspects that he might have suffered from undiagnosed schizophrenia.
