The Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting happened the 14th of December 2012. The school is in the City Newton which is in the state Connecticut, USA. The shooters was Adam Lanza, he was 20 years old. Adam Lanza had Asperger’s syndrome and during his teen years, he suffered from depression, anxiety and OCD. Though he had these mental struggles, the police didn’t think it was only this, that caused him to commit the school shooting. But the combination of his mental struggles, an atypical obsession with violence and the fact that he had access to weapons.
Adam Lanza first killed his own mother Nancy Lanza in their home. After he went to the school, where he shot 20 children, that was between the age of 6-7 years old and 6 adults that worked at the school. So a total of 28 people died by Adam Lanza. He used a semi-automatic riffle and a 10 mm hand gun to commit the shooting. He ended up dying by shooting himself in the head.
This shooting is the deadliest mass shooting at a school in the USA, and the 4th deadliest shooting committed by one person.
