I was really looking forward to something very different. I had the maps and my own personal ‘’survival’’ kit – lots of chocolate and a drink and, of course, my phone to record my new discoveries. I thought about going to the wilderness in Alaska for a couple of days. My buddy and I loved the outdoor lifestyle, so we were really looking forward to this trip. We packed our survival gear and drove about 4 hours, where we would take a private plane to Alaska. The island we stayed on was Kodiak Island, its famous for the wild terrain and the fast-changing temperatures. When we parachuted off the plane, we landed on a beach where we imminently saw a Kodiak bear hunting for salmon. We were very scared but lucky for us, we brought a signal flare to scare the bear away. I sat the camp up near the ocean stream, so Tim could start fishing. Tim caught to 2 salmon so we had plenty to eat, that night. We heard lots of different noises, we had our flare gun in one hand and a machete in the other. It was very scary because we also heard steps from wild animals, but we were ready. The next we woke up very early, to rebuild or camp because it got destroyed by the wind in the night. After we finished rebuilding our camp, we went for a walk in the beautiful nature. Our goal for the walk was to see the beautiful big Barometer mountain. It’s the biggest mountain on the island, when we arrived at the top we could see all the Alaska island in the area and the mainland. The locals told us that we couldn’t stay for more than 20 minutes, because of a snowstorm heading in our directions, as soon as we took a picture we went down. The mountain was clearly the best thing on trip. It was our final day, we packed our things and we called the airport so we could get picked up. It was a wonderful, I really like the nature in Alaska and I’m looking forward to the next time I’m going to Alaska
