I was really looking forward to something very different and new. I had the maps and my own personal ‘survival’ kit – lots of chocolate and a drink and, of course, my phone to record my new discoveries. The place I had chosen was Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, the main reason why I chose this place was because of the nature and the lack of people. I drove my way through the forest in some kind of a van, I must have driven for hours before I was at the right place. After some hours looking for the right place I finally saw a little valley, surrounded by a big forest and behind all the tree you could see mountains as far as the eye go. When I saw it I knew it was the right place to be and explore. I unpacked my stuff from the van and settled down in the valley. The first thing when you’re exploring is to find the right place to explore, so I started scouting for the perfect place to start. At first I only saw trees and mountains, but after some time scouting I began to see some changes in the in forest, a little place not far away from here there was a spot without any trees. I packed the most important stuff and began to travel on my little journey of exploration. It didn’t take long before I was at the place I first thought was a place without any tree, but I found out that there were many small trees instead of the normal trees I had seen in the rest of the forest. In the middle of all the small trees there was a giant tree, it was actually double the size of the other tree, in the tree there was a little hole. I silently look into the hole and saw a huge eagle egg, it was amazing to see a thing of that kind, when you’re only used to see cars and building all over the place. I studied the egg for some time, before I come to the conclusion that there must be an eagle close to here, I look up in the tree, and yes I saw I great eagle, it almost looked like the eagle you as an American have seen on many posters and TV-shows. That was my great one-day exploration!
