So recently I’ve been wondering about something and that is how todays teenagers can keep up with the daily pressure of being young. I am young too and I have to admit that I have a hard time keeping up with the everyday pressure myself.
You have to think about a lot of things including grades, social status and body images and at the expectations that comes with them. Most teenagers have an interest for social medias, friends, social life, expensive brands and to look good and acceptable. If we don’t live up to the demands, we can say goodbye to being accepted.
Now that I am a teenager myself I can tell that especially grades are a big pressure. Grades are a big pressure because you have to get a good academic average to get access to the many different schools nowadays. It’s often that students compare their grades and make a competition out of it. Even though it may seem fun in the start it will later make the individual student feel big pressure. Nothing good comes out of comparing yourself with others. That’s not how grades should work, they should show how you are academically.
If you take a good look on social medias you would know how a “perfect” body is supposed to look like. I think it’s shocking that girls and boys at 13-14 years old have to worry about how ever they are thin or fat and how ever if they have big enough muscles. Instead they should be focused on having a good time and enjoying being young.
