I don’t use social medias as much as many people think. I once deleted Facebook from my iPhone, I believe it’s a year ago. It has effected my life in many ways. I’m not close to be as stressed and I’m more social than ever. I must admit I use snapchat pretty frequently, but even after 2 weeks at DHE, I think I might have halved the time I once spent on snapchat.
Do you think young people are too dependent on technology, and social medias?
I think young people is starting to feel like its normal to have the newest phone and the newest computer, and they’re born with all this technology so it’s probably all normal to them. So, they use it very often even though some of them are very young. So I would say that a lot of them is too dependent on new technology and social medias.
How do you think people behave online compared to real life?
I personally behave just the same online as I do in real life, but I have seen a lot of stuff on Facebook for an example that is just too offensive. People threatening other people to their lives and so many other awful things. And every time I see stuff such as that, I first report it to Facebook themselves and then I often write a personal message saying that he has to stop and I’ve contacted Facebook and that I’m not afraid of him. My sister has been threatened herself and that’s why I don’t just skip that kind of stuff. But when I write to them they seem like another person. Suddenly they’re all calm, and apologize when I tell them about my sister. So, I think people are playing way too tough on social medias.
