Recently, i have read about you and your actions and i thought i would send you a letter explaining how things are going today. After your death a lot of things have happened.

I know you were alive to see Martin Luther King’s speech about the now, former racial issues.

Although it could be discussed if racism is still a big issue in America, things have gotten a lot better. In 2009 a black president was elected! You probably thought that would never happen. A lot of people liked him and a lot of people didn't, but i guess that is to be expected when such a controversial thing happens. If you could’nt tell, Americans are still not fond of change. After Obama served his 8 years as the president, a man called Donald Trump. Many claim he’s racist and bigoted and i think it’s because you’ve switched from a black president to a white one. Of course a black president wouldn’t have the the same criticism towards minorities as a white one would. I would say it’s going pretty good so far.

There is little racism left in America, but you guys are still not doing fantastic. Statistically, black people are more likely to be shot by police than any other race. There have been different occasions where big riots have sprung out from these events. For example, in 1992 a six day riot broke out in Los Angeles after four police officers were acquitted of all charges, after almost beating a man to death. The brutal event was even video taped. Can you believe that? There have been lots of protests recently as well, (for some reason they tend to happen in California) Most of them against Trump.
