To kill a mockingbird is a classic work of literature. I've always wanted to read it but since my brother read it last year I figure I'd wait until 8. to read it too. The reason I chose book vs film, was because it is known to be one of the best films of all time and I love to sit and analyze the little differences. I also chose the book because it seemed challenging.
2. Facts about the film
I would be surprised if anyone in here recognizes some of the actors since they're not exactly from our time. Atticus is played by Gregory Peck who also won an Oscar and Golden Globe for his role. Previously he had been Oscar nominated for four different roles, so it was no wonder that they wanted hi to play Atticus. Later he also starred in Moby Dick before his death in 2003.
Scout is played by actress Mary Badham, who was also nominated for an Oscar. Jem is played by Phillip Alford.
The film’s director, Robert Mulligan, was nominated for an Oscar and Golden Globe. Although he didn't succeed to win those, he did win the title of best director at the Cannes film festival. Robert died 10 years ago with the age of 83.
