Environmental protection: youth, pollution and recycling

This question has been circling around in the media for a really long time. It’s obviously something that’s very important for humanity's survival and well-being, but somehow, it’s never making that many big headlines. When the media do address this subject, they all pretty much agree on one thing, that pollution of the earth, is definitely more of a problem in the younger generation. The next thing they do, is talk about how it should be addressed more in schools and on social media, and I really think it has been, a lot. The thing is, it never really goes any further, nobody really does anything more than that. I mean, they put out all of these commercials, but people forget all about them the moment they have scrolled past, or skipped them. There is just so much going on all the time on Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat, so, to see one or two posts about recycling, isn’t going to prove so much of a point.

But I think it’s more than simply not caring, it’s the lack of respect most young people have, they don't care if they throw a water bottle on the ground, because they forget about it three seconds later. From what I have encountered, many people just rely on the people whose jobs are to collect the trash, and I really think that's a selfish and ignorant setting to have.
