Terminsprøve 2017 - My vacation to South Africa

Dear friends and family As many of you guys probably know, I am in this beautiful place called South Africa. It is the 10th day in the country south from the Equator and my family and I have already discovered enough for a lifetime. We have seen everything from wild and awesome nature to the lives of young students in the school. I especially founded the school very interesting, because they are nothing like the school in Denmark. You can see in one of the many pictures from my trip, that the students are sitting in small classrooms with books and school uniforms, which is nothing like school in Denmark. In Denmark we get to wear our own clothes in big classrooms and everybody have a computer to write on. I met a lot of different people for instance in the school we visited, on the streets and on the hotel we were staying. All of them were just so friendly, open minded and they always wanted to talk. They told stories about the past, the present and the future. They talked about the apartheid in the early days, about the politics in the country and much more. In other words: Everything between earth and heaven There is an interesting incident I would like to share with you. It was almost sunrise, when I woke up to the sound of loud stamps outside the window. I walked out on the balcony in my underwear - which is okay because the hotel was far away from everything - curios to see what happened. When I looked down, I saw what must have been around 100 giant elephants walking down to the water. There was only one guy, that in some how controlled all the elephants, who gave me permission to clap and feed the elephants as they were bathing in the water. That was a really cool experience, and the man shared a lot of facts about the elephants with me. Of course I also experienced a lot of other things than the elephants. We went to an apartheid museum, where it was breathtaking to see, that the country was like that once. We went on a safari trip, where we had to get up around 5 o’clock in the morning to see the wild animals. Even though I was very tired on the safari trip, it was a great experience. The guide was very good at english and told us interesting stories about the animals we saw and fun facts. So now you guys have heard a bit of my winter vacation and some of my experiences.
