People are different from one another. That’s just how it is. Some more and others. And this is especially true when we talk about Dexter. On the outside he looks like a regular guy, with a regular 9 to 5 job at his local police department in forensics. But as we get to know more and more about Dexter we find out that that’s not really the case. He is in fact a psychopath. Why? Because he doesn’t have any feelings at all, and because he got a habit of killing people. But even here is he different, because Dexter only kill people that deserve it. A “code” as he calls it. This code, even though he doesn’t feel, makes Dexter sympathetic in the way that you can see the reason for him killing those who deserve. Yes, Dexter does it because he likes it. But your still on his side. Another way that Dexter seem to care, is when he is talking about his sister and Rita. He always tries to help his sister as much as possible and does what he can to help her with her own career. As for Rita, he seems to care for her, because he can see some of himself in her. But when it come to the others at the police department, it looks like he just pretending to care. And that’s probably Dexter biggest characteristic. His ability to pretend. Everyone around him (except for one) thinks that he is just a regular guy. But underneath the regular job and life, lies a lot of dark secrets. But does all of this make Dexter a good or a bad guy? I think he is good in the sense that he helps the people that’s there for him and kill the people that deserves to die. But he is bad in the way that he first and foremost kills because he likes It and not because they deserve it.
