Analyse af 'Monster under the Bed'

Fearlessness is extremely overrated – fear makes us run in another direction when a monster wants to have us for a lunch. Therefore, falling in love with fear is easier than running and kicking your brain into a higher level. We have all tried of being scared in our daily day, and everybody is scared of something, and facing fear helps us overcome it.

In 2011, Lezanna Clannachan wrote the short story “Monster under the Bed”, which deals with a fifteen-year-old boy, who meets some difficulties through his actions, and the boy is going to make difficult decisions.

This short story takes place in Waterloo station in London, which is the one of the major stations in central London. The whole story takes place on a bench in a train shed, as described in the story “This one yours? She asks as a train slides into the platform. He snakes his head, having memorised the timetable last night. Not many trains stop at Fernley” (page 9, l. 34-35), witch shows that trains trains arrive and departs.

Eddie is a fifteen-year-old boy living with his despondent mom, who’s ill. Eddie takes care of his mom and dogs as well, which is clearly described in the following sentence - “Get down, you draft buggar”.
