The death penalty has always been a mentioned problem. The death penalty are mostly given to someone who have been found guilty of a big crime. Despite it is not easy to consider death penalty as an easy way to punish the convicted. It would loss the idea, because it would be using violence on counter violence.
My first problem with the death penalty, is that the system is not correct every time. Judges can convict the innocent, as we know from the case of Nicholas Yarris, who spent more than 2 decades on death row for a murder and rape he didn’t commit.
The death penalty is unjust and morally wrong. When someone kills someone, the proper punishment is not to murder he/she, but maybe help them in a certain way, so he/she can see that, what he/she did was wrong. We don’t rape the rapist, it would be repeating the crime.
Society has always employed different kinds of punishments in an effort to prevent potential criminals from committing crimes. In other words, there is always a drive to prevent future damage by learning from the mistakes of today. In this view, the society has a fervent interest in protecting people’s lives from murderers. The safest way to prevent murder is to use the strongest form of punishment which is the death penalty. The death penalty totally eliminates any possibility of the criminal going back to the streets and killing again.
