When Nelson Mandela was born in July, 1918, he was originally named Rolihlahla Mandela. He’s father was Henry Mandela, and he worked as advisor for Thembu King. Nelson Mandela had a lot of siblings, he had three full sisters, and six- half sisters, and three half- brothers. No one in the family had ever gone to school, so Nelson was the first one in the family to start in school. In school he was treated differently, because the white teachers didn’t want to use he’s African name, so they just called him Nelson.In an age for nine years old, he’s father passed away. After he died, Thembu King had the responsibility of Nelson Mandela. After spending a lot of time with Thhembu King, he became close friends with his son Justice.
His university:
When he was 21 years old, he started at Fort Hare University. But the university didn’t want him there because of his political work, so they kicked him out. But in 1942, he got his political work degree at another university.
His political career:
After graduating university, he wanted to create something by himself, so in 1944 he formed a youth league of the African National Congress. He created the league with some of his close friends. Nielson was against the government-enforced apartheid system, which seregate the races. He wanted to abolish the aparteid system. When they started to demonstrate, it was not violent protests, but later they were violent during their demonstrations. Because the population did not agree with him, he was imprisoned several times. He spent 18 years in a prison on the Island and was released in 1990. When he was there, he was allowed to white and receive one letter every six month Four years later he became the first black president of South African, in 1999. He died at the age of 95 in 2013.
