Hallo everybody, my name is [NAVN A]. Thank you for inviting me here to Columbia University in New York. It is an honour to give a presentation to you students about the climate changes.

Today’s topic of emphasis will be about climate change and our urgent need to keep the environment in better shape and preserve it for the long run with certain environmental changes. Coming up with a revised Clean Power Plan we will be looking at the earth’s natural well-being and preserving it for the future. The Clean Power Plan will set standards to lessen carbon dioxide release by 32 % from 2005 levels by 2030, which is 9% more than the proposed rules previously set by the Obama administration. After going public with his sweeping climate change regulation plans, there was some tension and backlash from a number of states which made it a hot topic in a political debate and being discussed thoroughly making it highly controversial with many different opinions on the case. The majority of states that are opposed to this plan is due to robust coal power plants, as the leaders worry if coal plants cannot do what they usually do state economies will suffer a lot. As of this case many states threated to sue after utility companies suggested it will make power bills go up and make the US uncompetitive. Each state will have different reduction targets although some states suggests to not comply and will go ahead to sue. Although Obamas new plans are very ambitious, it suggests coal power plants are emitting carbon dioxide. It doesn’t mention nor address vehicle, industrial or methane leaks. In estimates only 30% of carbon dioxide is caused through power plants suggesting there is a majority of details not being addressed by the clean power act.
