Min beretning fra Titanic

I was on board titanic when it sailed into the iceberg the night between 14 and 15 April 1912. The Titanic was a steamship, it was actually the largest steam-powered ship of the time. I talked to the man who had made the ship, he was called Harland and he said the ship couldn´t sink, but it did. There was 1500 people died that night. There was actually about 2,300 people on board, 900 of them were a part of the crew. The boat sailed from Southampton in England to New York City in the US, it was the ship's very first trip.

I was on the boat with my sweet wife, we just got married and were going on a wedding trip to America, we agreed we were going to New York City. We were very excited about the trip over the ocean. We have heard so good about the ship. We had booked one of the largest and most expensive cabins. It was really nice, everything shone, it was just amazing. It was evening we had just eaten. It was really nice on the whole ship and the food was nice and tasted wonderful. My wife and I went to the ballroom to dance and celebrate we had been married. The ballroom was also nice, we sat down by some people, as we became good friends with, we still know them today. We danced all night and enjoyed ourselves, but suddenly we heard some shouting from the deck, which is an iceberg. There was no one who did anything everyone danced just and had fun. But then the captain said that we should go to the lifeboat and everyone panicked, ran around, screamed and beat each other to get out first to one of the boats. But when it was our turn, they said it was only the women and the children who had to go in the lifeboat. I told my wife to go in the boat, but she went out when I didn't join the lifeboat. People began to jump out of the ship and into the water, we waited to see if we could get into a boat together, but we couldn't. The ship broke and sank we lay in the water and held each other to keep warm, but she died my wife died. I cried, managed to stay alive until another rescue boat found me.
