The shining is about a family consisting of a mother named Wendy, a Father named Jack, and a son Danny whose six years old. Danny has a special talent, he can shine. He can find things that have been lost, sense people's thoughts, and he can see things that has happen in the future. Jack Torrance is an alcoholic who has a violent temperament. He is a trained teacher, but he got fired. He lacks money and calmness to write his play, and therefore he takes the job as a winter warden at the Mountain Hotel Overlook, with his family. They live in the big hotel alone for a while. Jack begins to get mad and ends up wanting to murder his own family.

Throughout the film, I have had different emotions. I felt very sorry for Jack, who was alone in the hotel, and that he was playing all alone in this huge hotel. It was also touching, seeing the mother Wendy fight for her son Danny, also being so furious at the danger Jack, for the way he treats his family.
