Analyse af 'The Shining Mountain'

The Shining Mountain is a modern fairytale about a father, who wants his daughter to be as tough, proud and strong as he is. She cannot be like the other ordinary girls in Scotland. She must be extraordinary. The girl is afraid of disappointing her father, who is a famous mountaineer. As her father takes her to the Shining Mountain, she omits to tell him that she is scared, tired and weak. Eventually, when the goddess makes the father believe he has lost his daughter, because she was scared do disappoint him, he realizes his mistake. As he breaks down in tears, Pangma-la is no longer ashamed and afraid of disappointing her father.
