In the article “Charity” (2019), Salman discusses the aspect of charity and the viewpoint of a donator. Charities are a good thing and for the most part, builds on good intentions. Charities are donations for humanitarian aid to people in need. Donations can vary into a set of varieties including money, goods such as clothing, food, toys or organ donations to help people in medical need. People often donate to make an impact on the world and make it a better place, such as Allan Saldanha that donates from his cash. But should the way Allan make his donations be an approach to be followed and do the donations go to charity.
Allan Saldanha is a forty-one-year-old Audit Manager and is a big donator. He is explaining that ever since he was young, he felt that giving to charity is the right thing to do. The reason he got encouraged to donate to charity is that he witnessed the poverty around families and him wanting to help because he feels it is a duty to help and donate to those in need. He is also very eager to donate to charities and is and he feels that he does not know what impact those donations have, but that he increasingly feels the need to donate more and increasingly more. Allan feels that donating is important, and his donations increased from 10%, 20% to 50% of his income and he intends to give 75% of all of it. He is classifying that the GWWC (Giving what we can) is his dedication to donate more and more. The charity is encouraging its member to donate 10% of their average income which sounds skeptical and Allan is also a risk-averse guy and he is taking a lot of risks without knowing the impact of his donations and does the donations because his salary and career allows him to and he is planning on donating a lot of his saving and investments as long as his kids are provided for.
