Text 1: Text 1 was written by Salman Rushdie in 1989. Rushdie focusses on the racism that takes place in Britain against e.g. black people. He tells that the British people still think that they are superior because of their history and nothing has been done about it. The main problem is that the white people have prejudiced against black people and they see them as the problem in the society.
Text 2: The issue in text 2 is discrimination; how the white people look down on people from different cultures. In this text Hanif Kureishi writes about how people are being discriminated against their religion and the color of their skin.
Text 3: In text 3 written by Hanif Kureishi, there are two viewpoints on Islam. The two main characters are two different people. One character is an extremist and the other is a “wannabe”. Ali, who is an extremist, has changed completely and the father Parvez wants to live just like the British people.
Text 4: Text 4 was written by Tariq Ramadan. Ramadan tells about the relations between nonmuslims and Muslims. He doesn’t take any sides, but says that the both group are guilty for not building a relationship. He also says that the immigrants should integrate with the other people and the European should be more open to the newcomers.
