Den katolske kirkes holdning til abort

The Catholic church or roman catholic church as it is often referred as, is the largest Christian church with approximately 1,3 billion members of the church, whereas 3,7 million people of them live in Ireland. Christianity has existed in Ireland since the 5th century, and arrived from roman Britain, which was that part of GB which was ruled by the roman empire. The Romans came with the philosophy of god himself and Jesus which influenced the whole western world, including Ireland. And that affected the way the Irish people who saw abortion as an opportunity.

Already when a couple has sex for the first time, and the woman’s egg cell has been penetrated by a sperm cell, a human being has come to the world according to the catholic believe. And therefore, it has the same rights to protection and solicitude as any other human being, even though its still at little egg inside a woman. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person.

The catholic church means that killing a man can never be justified, and the church will always support the side of life, and is always an opponent to directly, provoked abortion.
