Discussion Philomena Philomena Lee was sworn to secrecy and forced to sign a document renouncing her claim to her child. Lee says” none of us wanted to give our babies up, none of us. But what else could we do? They just said `you have to sign these papers´”. Later in life Philomena Lee tried to reunite with her son who had been adopted by an American couple when he was tree years old. It reenacts moments where she and her son ask the same nun for help in finding each other but are denied until it is too late.
