COVID-19 i New York: tidlig spredning og reaktioner

The first case of COVID-19 in New York (State) was confirmed on March 1, 2020. More than half of the state's cases are in New York City. A woman traveled recently to Iran. Nearly a month later, the NY-city area was the worst-affected part of USA. On March 2, de Blasio (109th mayor of New York City) tweeted that people should ignore the virus. On March 7, Governor Andrew Cuomo declared a state of emergency in New York State after 89 cases had been confirmed. By the end of the month, 911 calls were at a record. On March 14, the Health and Hospitals Corporation and New York-Presbyterian cancelled non-emergency surgeries. I think if nearly everybody would stay at home for a month, the virus would be defeated faster, because there wouldn’t be new infections and you could focus on the infected people. I hope everyone is going to stay safe and in case of infection not to die.
