Man skulle vælge en begivenhed, der var sket, og skrive som om man selv havde været der. Jeg valgte titanic, og skrev en erindring om det.

April 15, 1912. A day that I'll always remember. When we came up on the deck people were starting to panic, and then I understood why. There was a giant iceberg that had hit the titanic. The Titanic was about to sink. In the first moment, I felt nothing. All my air was punched out of my lungs and I felt like I was gonna pass out. Now I wanted to wake up from this dream because it had turned into a nightmare. There was panic everywhere. Babys were screaming, kids were crying, families held on to each other, the lifeboats were slowly getting filled with more people. We all knew that there weren’t enough lifeboats to save all of us, only half of the passengers could survive this. First, the kids and mothers were required to get on board, afterward just women and at the end the men. Screams. Tears. Running people. The happiness, the excitement that was the other day was all gone. The positive energy was replaced with fear. I was shaking. I don’t know how long it took. It was like I watched a movie. It all happened so fast but slow at the same time. It just went by, without that, I could feel anything. I just sat there with the love of my life and watched this movie go and on. Suddenly I got ripped out of my thoughts when someone took my arm and said I should get in the lifeboat. It was one of the last ones, so I knew my fiance wouldn’t survive. I knew it deep inside, but I still believed him when he said just go, I’ll be with you soon. I fought against, I couldn’t leave him. He held me one last time. That last kiss and last time he held me is something I’ll feel forever. It breaks my heart every time I think about it. When I got on board of a bigger ship, that was there to save us, helpers came and gave me blankets to warm up. I got food and other stuff, but I didn’t want it. I screamed for my fiance. I screamed his name, but he didn’t answer. I sat down after running around for hours. Finally realizing he was gone. My heart was ripped out, it was so painful that I wanted to scream, but nothing came out of my mouth. When I looked around me I saw all of these people hurt, in shock, crying. The sparkle in their eyes was gone, their eyes were dead. Seeing this made me hurt more. It wasn’t just me that lost somebody tonight, but everybody here. The families lost a child, a father, a mother. It was like a living hell. A living hell that I would remember the rest of my life.
