Moving to another country can be very difficult, because of the culture and language, you get to know other people, but different people. it can be hard, to adapt to other people’s flow. A new country means to forget and learn, forget your language and adapt to a new one.
The other hand is a novel written in 2008 by a British author Chris Cleave.
Is the queen’s English the right English and is Nigerian English wrong, if you luck back yes it would be wrong but not today because English is a global language which makes it very flexible every country has its way to say a thing, like it or not.
The main character Little Bee: She is a Nigerian woman, she has the will to survive in the English society, by getting better at the Queen’s English. She has been in a language center for 2 years because she has to learn the Queen’s English. Little Bee can already speak English because she is from a formerly colonized country, the only thing she has to is changing her accent.
Little Bee overthink things and that is kind of the conflict in the novel, for an example, then she asks the officer there she could use a phone, the officer say behind the corner, normally even the Queen would just say tanks but again the over things thing and she says ´´(line 39-43 Tank you sir, may God move with grace in your life and bring joy to your heart and prosperity upon loved ones.)
