For an immigrant to create a life and get a job in a new country is not easy. You have to fight for it. If you want success you need to be passionate about your work. The man who said that was Tony Deep. Tony was born and lived in India until he was 19 years old. Tony had nothing and he’s family was very poor. When Tony came to Britain he started out with a job as a bricklayer’s mate and after 6 months he found a new job as a shunter on the railways in Wolverhampton. In his spear time he started a secretarial course at the local polytechnic, where he was the only man in the whole class. He shared a room with a friend to save on rent. Every week he sent a part o his payment to his family in India. He became friends with a girl on the course and when she heard that he needed a job she lead him to her aunt who was looking for help. The aunt gave him a try with eggs and told him that he have to sell them by knocking n doors nearby the house. The door to door sale was impressive and he started to be a door-to-door salesman, he found out that he earned more money by selling eggs than working on the railway so he bought a car and became a full time door-to-door salesman. He was so obsessed by being a salesman and to sell that he called himself Tony Deep although his family’s name was Wouhra. He did it because then it would be easier for the costumers to pronounce his name. after a few years he married the girl from the secretarial course. Together they opened a shop. his brothers came all the way from India to help him. He believed that if they all worked together the business could be big and he was right today his firm has annual sales of £97m, makes a gross profit of £8m and has 250 employs.
