Referat af 'Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde'

The story was about a man (Dr. Jekyll) who changes himself to another. Mr. Utterson was an old lawyer, quite and serious man. He was shy with strangers and afraid of showing his feelings.

Mr. Utterson go with his friend Richard Enfield. Endfield could a strange story. This was about a man there bumped in a girl, and the girl fall down. The man walked all over the girl’s body and left her screaming on the ground. Enfield ran after the man, and fetched him back. The girl came to a doctor. He said; the child is more frightened than hurt. The man there have hurt the girl pait her family money. Mr. Utterson took an anvelope out of his cupboard. It contained the will of Doctor Henry Jekyll, and was written in the doctor’s own handwriting; if I die , of if I disappear for more than three months, the will began; I wish to leave everything I own to my friend Edward Hyde. Mr Utterson search of Mr. Hyde. He search in the street, where Enfield had seen him. It was Mr. Hyde there hit the girl. Mr. Utterson saw Mr. Hyde near a mysterious door. He gave the lawyer his address, which was in a poor part of London. How did you known me, asked Mr. Hyde. I known people who know you. Who ? asked Mr. Hyde sharply. Mr. Hyde was a wanted man. There wasn’t someone there have seen Mr. Hyde for a long time. Nobody could say one good word about the wanted man. Doctor Jekyll´s servant Poole surprised Mr. Utterson with a visit. Something is wrong, said Poole. Doctor Jekyll has locked himself up in his study. Mr. Utterson took over to doctor Jekyll´s house with doctor Jekyll´s servant Poole. Doctor Jekyll would not see you, he don´t wanna see somebody, said Poole. The voice inside the room was not my master’s, said the servent. Someone has murdered my master. Eight days ago we heard his voice for the last time. For a week now the person – or thing – in that study has been crying night and day for some special chemical powders. I´ve been to every chemist in town in search of these chemicals of his, but they were never right, said the servant. The weren´t pure enough, he said. I had to take them back to the shop, and try another chemist. I don´t know what these chemicals are, but the person in that study wants them terribly badly, said Poole.’ They went over to the house again, and talk about mr. Hyde and doctor Jekyll. They went over to the laboratory where the man was. “Jekyll” I must see you, said the old lawyer. I beg you to leave me alone! Mr. Uttterson said; ‘it’s Hyde’s voice´, not your master’s. Break the door down, Poole!’ The took an axe, and tried to break the door down. The door was well made, of strong wood. Suddenly they came in. In the middle of the room, there lay a body of a man. – It was Edward Hyde.
