… The owner let him in and gave him the keys with a welcome and a sneaky smile. He did not really think much of it and just began unpacking fast.
Hours later he was tired and decided to go to bed. He fell asleep as soon as he laid down on the old sofa in the living room. He was awoken by a loud bang.
He sat up, confused. Was it a dream or was there a shadow by the window? He blinked, and just like that the weird shadow was gone.
He convinced himself that he must have imagined it and went back to sleep.
The next couple of days went by fast and he got settled in. He did not see the shadow man again. That was until he was in the basement, unpacking the last boxes.
He was sitting on the floor, back against the stairs that led up to the kitchen. He was deeply concentrated about the old yearbooks he had found in one of the boxes, when he felt a push in the back. He fell over, but when he looked back no one was there. ‘I must be imagining things’ he thought.
It went on like this for a few weeks, then one day he was in the garden and the neighbours came up to him. They started talking and he mentioned the weird things that had happened. They looked at him with a scared look. They went on to tell him about the previous owners. He learned about the Pierson family and how one day out the blue the husband killed his wife and went on to look for their 3 children. They were able to hide from him in the basement, but later died. The legend says the woman walks the hallways at night looking for her children to save them from their evil father.
