Michael Moore's quest in “Bowling for Columbine” is to get the Americans to think about why, there is so many gun murders in the United States.

The conclusion in the movie, must have to be that it's not because America has a more bloody history, or that there's more guns, but that it's because the media keeps the people afraid, by broadcasting television about, a tons of more murders/other kind of violent TV than there really is.

I think, despite not having read a lot of books, and only having the material from the movie (which let's face it, was heavily opinionated), that Michael Moore has got a point, and that when people are afraid you are more likely to have gun which then leads to the opportunity to kill people, and especially if you can't take proper care of your kid (for different reasons) that's definitely not helping.

When you got a gun, there is a lot bigger chance of you going out killing people.

When the media makes you afraid of say black men, you wont think as much about shooting one of those, cause you think if you don't kill them, they will kill you.

When he checked the gun control in Canada, it was the same and still they didn't have as many killings, because they're TV was so much different.
