'Trio for Four Voices' novelleanalyse

The novelle” Trio for four voices” is written by Jane McLaughlin in 2018. The novelle takes place in Spain on a hotel. In the short story do we follow the main character which is a first-person narrator. The narrator is in a game, and she never wished to participate. The game is made by a family who are also visiting the hotel. Amelia (the daughter) and her father deceived the narrator, to think that Amalie would kill her mother and make it like she was commit suicide. The narrator tells Amelia’s plan to her mother. Amelia’s father was furiously because the accusations on his daughter were “repulsive”. The narrator regret and said that she was sorry. Subsequently the family give the narrator gifts and tell her it was all a jest.

In the novelle “Trio for four voices” is the main character a first-person narrator. All instances are seen through her eyes: “I can hear them speaking French…” (P 1, II, 3-4). The narrator is not assigned a gender or a name. But I think that the narrator is a female, because Amelia gave the narrator some pink roses, and I think that means that the narrator is a female, also because it is a gift, that all females love.
