It’s 8 in the afternoon and I am beginning to find a place to sleep. Today hasn’t been that bad, I was going around trying to find some food.
I couldn’t find anything to eat, and it was around noon, I was starving then a man passed by me.
He looked at me a little weird and then he stopped, I was hoping he stopped so he could give me something, but he didn’t. Instead, he walked into the store next to me. When he got out, he had a bag full of groceries and he gave them to me.
I couldn’t believe it; I was so happy and so grateful. He talked to me for a little while, turns out his name is Carl, and he works at the bank.
I still have some food left from him but now it’s time to find a place to sleep, this is the worst part of the day for me. Going around for hours, struggling to find a safe spot to rest only to wake up at 4 in the morning from the cold and the loud noise of the drunk people in the street.
There is no place for us homeless people, the hotels don’t welcome us anymore and no one wants to hire a homeless man.
