What were the Jim Crow Laws?
The Jim Crow Laws were a law that separated black and white people in public. They couldn’t go to the same school, bathroom or public transport. They weren’t even allowed to drink at the same drinking fountains.
What was the general aim of these laws?
To separate the two colors from each other. They were separated, but “equal” but they weren’t really equal. White people were treated better and had more freedoms

In this picture, you can see how they were divided. The black people should sit in the back of the bus, and the white people got to sit in the front. I wouldn’t mean that was “equal treatment”
What is the main difference between the Jim Crow laws and Jim Crow Etiquette?
Black people who violated Jim Crow laws, by for example, drinking from the white-water fountain risked their homes, their jobs, even their lives. Whites could physically beat blacks with without punishment. Black people couldn’t really do anything about it because the Jim Crow criminal justice system was all-white: police, prosecutors, judges, juries, and prison officials
