The short story" Deportation at Breakfast" is written by Larry Fondation. The story is about the protagonist. He is out strolling, looking for something to eat, and he gets lured into this cozy little diner-inspired breakfast restaurant called "Clara's" due to promising handmade signs, and the place was just quite charming. The protagonist then proceeds to walk into the lovely restaurant and is looking for a place to sit. As soon as he got in, he was met with a refreshing and homey smell. He looked around and saw that business was quiet at the time; only two other tables were occupied by customers. Therefore he chose to sit at the counter and leave the tables to other customers. It was still quite early, not yet seven-thirty. He then orders his food, and this is surprisingly easy because the menu was short and to the point. The worker who is called Javier stood behind the counter, ready to assist. While the protagonist's food was getting made, the authorities came in and grabbed Javier midst him finishing the breakfast. After a while, the protagonist gets up and goes behind the counter to finish the food. He was fairly hungry. Then more and more customers appear in the restaurant while the protagonist is still behind the counter cooking, and the customers start to order food.
