Dear fellow students. As many of you may know, there is a big immigration issue in the United States. Today I want to address some of the bigger issues. According to the department of homeland security there is 11.4 million undocumented immigrants in the US. This number is outrageously high. 59% of the 11.4 million is Mexican. This is a huge problem. Many American politicians is criticizing Mexico, especially Donald Trump. This man is a presidential candidate for the republican party and is quoted saying "I want to build a wall between America and Mexico". Many is criticizing Donald Trump for being racist. Let me be honest, I am one of the criticizers. He has developed a full plan to deport every single immigrant. This plan includes 650 school busses, and the American military law enforcement. This deportation is believed to cost about 114 billion dollars. That is 10,070 dollars pr. immigrant. This will end up in a big financial crisis for the US.
6% of their labor work is coming from immigrants, that is a huge amount of workforce to lose. To me all this seems like a big joke. But reality is that, this is actually true.
I am thinking about all the families that would be split apart. I am thinking about all the friendships that is established between immigrants and US citizens. Should the American people just stand and watch their beloved friends get taken away? this shouldn't be possible in our modern world. We have come a long way. In Europe we say NO to racism. So why can't the US do the same? Why is it possible to be such big of a racist, and still be a presidential candidate in the most powerful country in the world? We cannot trust this man. He will be given nuclear codes if he wins the election! That is really worrying me and should be worrying you too.
