En personlig beretning om Facebooks lancering

It was February 4, 2004, I woke up in my dorm with my roommates just like any other day. It felt like a complete normal day. I sat down on the sofa with my other roommates while eating some cereal. Nothing was really happening until my roommate brad comes into the room. Hes all excited. He comes in and says we need to check this new app that had just been released and that everyone all around the world were going crazy about downloading it. So, we all sat down together to figure out what this app was all about. Back then I had absolutely no idea Facebook would become such a big app and have such impact on the world. Its crazy we were just young college kids downloading an app that we at the time thought was just a stupid overhyped app but look at it now, one of the biggest apps in the world. When I went to class that day, this app was everything people talked about, you basically couldn’t go a minute without hearing somebody talk about it. Everyone was setting up a profile. The whole internet was also going crazy, articles were already made about this new app. After my classes were done, I went back to my dorm again. My roommates and I had already downloaded Facebook together earlier, we just hadn’t made a profile, so we hadn’t seen what it was all about. We all made a bit fun of it because everyone was going so crazy about it, but honestly, I think we were all just really jealous that we didn’t invent it, none of us really wanted to admit to actually liking the app so that really had an impact on my reaction to the app being released, there was just no way I would ever admit to liking that app. If I’m being completely honest, I did really like Facebook I think I was just a bit jealous at first but no matter how jealous I was I knew that it wasn’t a bad app. Everyone on the app was posting pictures and making updates, it was honestly just a really fun way to communicate. It was quite embarrassing actually because my roommates and I all ended up getting addicted to Facebook later on just like everyone else. People were still talking about the app weeks after the release, I don’t think people ever actually stopped talking about it. And to this day today people still use it, I think that’s quite impressive.
